The Generating Capacity Statistics Package ed 1 2006 is compiled to provide information about three aspects of the power generation industry: the size, history and development of generation capacity in every country, its composition by energy source, and analysis of the power plants which deliver it, both present and planned. The generating capacity statistics in the database package are contained in six sets of spreadsheets covering: generating capacity (MW), historical and forecast, present and future new generating capacity (MW), analysis of generating capacity (MW) by fuel source, historical and forecast, electricity generation (GWh), existing power plants, 2006 and new generation projects in the pipeline.
The generating capacity statistics databases have been combined into 3 packages, addressing three aspects of the generation industry. They can be purchased all together in one combination package, or as separate packages. The generating capacity statistics data in these databases is constantly changing and not only is new data added regularly but figures are sometimes changed retrospectively. ABS has maintained the Generating capacity statistics databases with regular up-dates since its inception in 1991.
We believe that these generating capacity statistics databases, which have been assembled over a period of 15 years, constitute one of the most comprehensive banks of data about the global electricity generating industry available today. This information bank provides immediate and easy access to a wealth of information for planning, analysis, reports and presentations concerning the electrical generating industry.
